What's Your Embarrassing Song?

Post by TReed »

This question applies to Cabrios and those that ride with your windows down, sunroof open, music loud....

So, I'm updating my MOTD playlist and I'm currently up to 7 hours of music. Today I had it playing on the way home from work, windows down, sunroof open, LOUD. Trying to see how my playlist flows, if I want to change anything around, delete, etc. so I'm trying not to skip over any songs as I'm letting it play. I come to a red light and THAT song came on...you know, the one that if the people in the car next to you hear it, they're going to look at you like you're crazy?

So, what's your embarrassing song? You know, the secret indulgence, the one that when you pull up to a red light, you reach for the volume to turn it down because you don't want everyone to stare at you?

I'll give you mine since I started it (actually I have several from all different genres, lol, but I'll just start with one for now)

"Get Low" - Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz

(I'm sure some of you that know me are shaking your head thinking I'm crazy right now)

ROFLMAO! That's hilarious! I can so picture you sitting there at the red light when you look over and people are staring at you. And you've got the BOOM too! Even better! "From the windoooooww... to the waaaalls..."

I don't know if I have a secret song... I tend to turn them all down at lights. I just listen to the radio most of the time. The one song that sticks out that I'm almost embarassed to like is "See You Again" by ... wait for it... Miley Cirus. Hannah Montana for god's sake! And I don't have any little girls at the house! Sheesh. I was JAMMING on the way to work one morning a couple of years ago and googled it when I got here... :barf: . I had to tell my coworker how hilarious it was that I liked it when she related that her husband likes that song and she told him he could borrow their 13 year old daughter's CD if he wanted  UGH. Well now that the secret's out, maybe I'll download the MP3

Dang, Marc, I don't even have John Mayer on my iPod  lol I do like those songs, though.

Ok, here is another one of mine, worse than the first

And another one...Elvis

I have 3 Hanson albums, plus Air Supply's Greatest Hits on my Zune. Yeah, I handed in my "man card" ages ago. (Never mind the broadway musicals for which I own scores... Les Mis, Phantom, Damn Yankees, West Side Story, etc....)

It's hard to prove there's any testosterone running through your veins, when "Castle on a Cloud" is echoing out of your speakers...

I am often playing big band jazz in the MINI, a lot of which is from my collection of Maynard Ferguson recordings. When he's playing one of his screech trumpet solos, well, most people don't understand that. But he does have some nice motoring tunes. One of my favorites is La Fiesta.

For general Interstate driving I like more calming selections, like this one, "Distant Thunder" by Checkfield.

I thought I solved this problem by not having an aftermarket stereo in my car, but (with the windows down and the sunroof open) I might make a move to turn something like this down a bit...

I'm not sure whether I should blast this one out of my stereo or turn it down when it comes on. :P

Anyone have new embarrassing songs? :)

A similar situation happened to me at work today. I recently moved into a 'suite' sort-of office. You enter and go thru my office to get to my boss' office, so he's walking through my office all day long. When I moved I brought in my iPod docking station for my desk. So today, I have my iPod playing randomly...I left my office for a bit and came back and "Crazy Bitch" by Buck Cherry was playing  How'd THAT get on my iPod??? #-o LOL
Luckily the boss wasn't around. He would've laughed at it, but I would've been embarrassed! 8-[

I downloaded Google Music for my HTC Evo and it has a feature that makes "Instant Mixes" kind of like the "Genius" feature on iPods and what-not. Well, I made an Instant Mix of a favorite song of mine, hit play, and left it on shuffle. I had to turn down the volume in my car for a few minutes, and when I finally turned it back up, this was playing:

Needless to say, I was QUITE shocked to see this on my playlist. Especially considering the song I chose to make the Instant Mix for is NOTHING like that one.  #-o

I deleted it seeing as I never listen to that song and it was just imported from a CD in itunes when Google Music imported everything. lol

And Chad, I think if was either Stereo Heart by Gym Class Heroes or Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry. I don't remember.
