I am sorry to anyone that missed out on this. Unfortunatly I had to change this as no one was chiming in on it.
Just to let those who singed up know:
You need to report at 8:30 AM at the site There are driving directions in another thread I will post them in a separate thread.
I am not sure if we have 10 hotel rooms needed or not so I am not bothering trying to get a group rate and not meeting the 10 room requirment.
I stayed at:
Inn on the Green
700 East Burleigh Blvd.
Tavares, Florida 32778
Phone - 352-343-6373
or - 1-800-935-2935
It was clean the staff was delightful and the location is good its about 10 minutes from the Autocross site. There are restruants and a Wal Mart up the road from here too.
Just a reminder I will be grilling Burgers and Dogs w/ salads etc... Soft drinks etc.. will be provided too.
You need to bring drinking water so you dont dehydrate and something to sit on.
Helmets are being provided by Martin Sports Car club and they will be having an event on Sunday they said they will make a special Mini Class or you can run in the normal classes if your a vet. Please support Martin if your local the the area they run a great operation and the people are a blast.
Thank you all for participating I look foward to meeting all of you.

So, If I sign up for the 10am to 12am group, is that the only time instruction/driving is taking place or will there be other instruction outside of that time slot? Just trying to understand how the day will be laid out. If I sign up for the afternoon group, I need to know if I still need to get up at 5am to make it their by 8am or if I can just show up sometime before noon and not miss anything but social hour. :D

Okay Jim, I've got a question (Sorry, I'm a little confused.)
Say I sign up for the 10-12 group. Does that mean that from 8-10, and 12-2, I'm still receiving instruction?

Nope, you would be instructed from 10-12 you can show up close to 10 then hang out after your done. Once all 3 run groups have had their instruction we will open up the course for fun runs from 2-5 to try out your new skills.
At about 10:30-11:00 I will be firing up the grill and there will be food and drink so you can hang out meet people look at cars and watch other zip around the course.

one more question (I've never done anything like this so I'm naive.)
With the different groups (8-10, 10-12, 12-2) what all happens? I mean, do you learn techniques from the instructors, then go out and drive the course with the instructors?
Sorry for the questions. ;)

I will get you your answer to that question this weekend. I am attending a Phase 1 and Phase 2 w/ evolution and will present a few questions to Jean. We will put together a format on how the school will run and I will give you that info.
I am not sure if 2 drivers will be able to the same run group. I will know for sure on Monday the 2nd.

A 2 driver car should be able to be in the same run group.
This is sort of the way it will be as far as how you are going to a class and its format.
You will circle the instructors on the course (or in the classroom, but probably not to save time) the instructors will introduce themselves then you will introduce yourself
There are 3 instructors so only 3 cars at a time will run. I know 10 cars isn not even we will worry about that later. You will do 2 runs by yourself stop and let the next 3 do 2 runs until all 10 cars have run twice.
Then you will do 1 run w/ the instructor as passanger. After your run he will talk to you about what you are doing and how you could do better. Then the instructor will get in the drivers seat and take you around the course to show you some tricks for 1 run. Then you will get back in the drivers seat and drive the instructor around for 1 runs. Then the instructor will get out and you will do 2 last runs by yourself w/ the instructor watching from the side. He/She will give you some tips between the last 2 runs.
You will get to compare you 1st 2 runs to your last 2 runs and see how you have improved. You will get a printout.
After everyone has done this and if there is time you will get to either go w/ an instructor or by yourself for as many rus as you can get until your 2 hours are up.
After all 3 run groups finish the course will be opened up for fun runs from 2:00 until 5:00 or possibly later if we beg Jean and Mark. :D
Remember the 2-5 segment is for ANYONE paid or not. So if your not interested in doing the school but want to do a few runs eat some food and hand out come on out.
NOW - of we are short on attendance GOOD that = more seat time for those who are there. The school portion will be revamped to include more instruction and more runs.
Any of you road racers out there that think this is for kiddies. Speedsource, I dont know if you know who they are but they field a LOT of race cars, 2 Daytona Prototypes raced in the Rolex and 4 RX-8's ran in a Cup race on Friday in Daytona, umm yeah! Speedsource is consdering sending all its drivers to Evolution. The owner and a couple of the drivers are from Autocross backgrounds and realize that the best foundation for a good road race driver is a good Autocrosser.
Something for everyone to think about. You are taking a school that pro's are going to take.
