Evolution Driving School - Mini only School

Post by Jims5543 »

Is anyone interested in an Evolution Performance Driving School that would be a Mini Only event??

I mentioned this at the Rally/Meet and it was well received. The Venue would be in Orlando.

I am still confirming a date in the Springtime. What would be some good dates to do this?

Here is a link to their site.

http://www.autocross.com/evolution/

This would be a Phase 1 type of class with some fun runs at the end of the day so you can try out your new skills.

I need to know if there is an interest in this before proceeding.

Yes - I'm going to do as much of this as I can next year. I need to know an approximate date though, Springtime is rather vague for me to give 100% commitment.

I just contacted Jean at Evolution and she told me she had some openings in the spring. May or June. Any requests would be appreciated.

I'm going to be wqorking 6-7 days a week from Jan 2 thru May 2, then out of town for one week before returning to a more normal schedule. If it's after May 9, I can definitely do this. Before, I would not be able to commit until the first of any given month when new work schedules come out.

If it were not for the ridiculous overtime I'll be working, I would jump right on this.

Do we have a cost per person yet - not that it would make a difference to me.

Her website states approx $200.00 for a phase one day...and it is happening Jan 10-11 here in Orlando. Too early for me to come up with another wad of cash after my pulley (in two weeks!)

spring is extremely doable...

THESE PRICES ARE NOT FIRM JUST SPECULATION.

It will be a lot cheaper than that. That price is based on 12 cars/drivers you are PROBABLY looking at $75 for the day including fun runs.

There will be a small fee for thos that want to come later and just do fun runs. PROBABLY more along the lines of $15.

I am going to sponsor this event somewhat. So my contribution will drive the price down and make this affordable.

That dates we are looking at are in the spring I have not been able to get them to nail down an exact date yet. We have a window of a Saturday from March 27th to April 24th. Once I get firm date and price I will post this up. What I need to know at this point is how many are interested.

So far interest is great and this thread has been up for only 2 days. I feel confident this will not be a problem pulling off.

I dont want to sound like I am selling this. Honestly if we have 12 people this will happen that just means we get to drive more. I dont think any of us have a problem with that. :)

I will do all I can at this end to keep the price as low as possible. Just remember this is not a SCCA Autocross event. At an Autocross you get to drive 3-4 times. At this school you will drive 20-40 times possibly more.

I have done a school with 12 drivers by 2:00 in the afternoon you are exhausted from driving so much. Well, to be fair this was in my RX-7 that has no power steering and 10" wide tires. So my arms and shoulders were shot from doing close to 50 runs.
